IWS Sales in Mountain Home, Idaho is in the final stages of completing our brand-new Hot Rod Shop. We are looking for a talented person to build high-performance 4x4 vehicles. Our focus is on ‘67 to ‘79 Chevy Pickups. The goal is to build the absolute finest vehicles in the nation with a big emphasis on keeping the original look with all modern components. Most builds are on custom built chassis with coil over suspension and will have 700 to 1,000 hp EFI engines for power. This shop is closed to the public and will only have 4 to 6 full-time employees so we can really focus on our craft.
We are looking for someone who is as passionate about older 4x4’s as we are and have that desire to build amazing vehicles for our exclusive customer base.
Job Details:
· Lead the disassembly and re-assembly of the complete chassis and drive train.
· Work with our body shop department to develop the best build strategy.
· Install new complete Dyno Tested performance L.S Based engine, startup run and diagnostics.
· Solid understanding of OEM and Aftermarket Fuel Injection
· Install transmission and understand electronic transmission controller and operation.
· Rebuild rear ends and front ends when applicable (Dana 44/60 & GM 12 bolt)
· Run brake lines, brake system fuel lines and ensure correct operation.
· Help in all areas of the shop as needed with an emphasis on mechanical and electrical aspects of the build.
· Have fun and enjoy being in a hot rod shop environment.
Qualifications:
· Must have a minimum of 3 years working in a mechanic shop or hot rod industry
· Able to install factory GM LS engine, wire, and plumb without supervision.
· Experienced in 12 volt wiring with the ability to install wiring harness and digital components
· Ability to lift and carry 75 lbs.
· Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

We are looking for an intern to come help us out in our shop. Our company name is Hernandez Hot Rods & Customs and we focus on the restoration of classic cars. We are located in Rexburg, ID. We are looking for someone to help us push projects through as well as the opportunity to provide a quality experience for the intern. In our shop, an intern will have the opportunity to fabricate, repair engines, restore interiors, work on suspensions and chassis, etc.
We are looking for someone who is an active learner, punctual, adaptable, good at problem solving, has communication skills, detail oriented, and organized. However, there will be plenty of opportunities to develop these skills. In this position, experience will be gained in customer service; inspecting vehicles for faults and repairs; dismantling vehicles and removing parts for repair, using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, or hoists; filling depressions with body filler and files, grinds, and sands to repair surfaces; keeping an accurate log of all work performed; maintaining and cleaning shop equipment and tools to ensure they are kept in a safe and usable condition at all times; adhering to company work safety policies; and quality control analysis. Along with the opportunity to have hands -on experience in these different fields, the intern will also gain experience with hard skills. These skills include brake repair and brake pad replacement, oil changes, diagnostic tests, engine repair, electrical systems, car tune-ups, auto body repair, transmission diagnostics and repairs, wheel alignments, fluid leaks, etc.
